My name is Ludo. I am a second year economics student, and am running for Vice President of ExSIF, as I would love to take on a leadership role within the society and become more actively involved in its success.

I have been an active member of ExSIF for the past two years - winning the stock pitch competition last year and being one of the winners this year. I am also an analyst for the TMT sector and recently represented ExSIF in a trip to the Brewin Dolphin offices. Throughout these years I have become friends with many of the members and I regularly attend the socials.

In terms of my experience, aside from the aforementioned analyst position, I am also currently the marketing and communications secretary for the economics society. This has improved my ability to work in a team, and working with both the academic and social side of the committee has given me a solid understanding of how they both operate as well as the general organisational structure of societies.

If elected as Vice President, there are three aims which I would set out to achieve in order to build upon the society’s current success. Firstly, I would like to introduce more competitions, as I think they are a great learning tool and a way for members to make themselves stand out. Secondly, I would like to get portfolio managers and analysts involved in the first term. This would allow them to learn the basics of financial analysis and start growing the real money fund as soon as possible. Thirdly, I want to increase collaboration with other university investment funds. Collaborating with other universities would create lots of opportunities for trips, competitions and other exciting events.These are the reasons why I am applying to become Vice President, why I am best suited to the role, and what I would set out to achieve if elected.
